Al-Faisal Center of the Blind

Al-Faisal Center of the Blind

Empowering the visually impaired since 1968 — through education, technology, training, and compassion.

Our Mission

The Al-Faisal Center of the Blind is the flagship project of Pakistan Association of the Blind – Faisalabad. Founded in 1968 by the late Captain Masheet-ur-Rehman Malik, the Center was built to restore dignity, independence, and opportunity to individuals who are blind or low-vision. We believe every visually impaired person deserves access to quality education, technology, skills training, and a meaningful role in society.

From humble beginnings in a garage, we’ve grown into a fully equipped facility serving students from across the region — completely free of cost.

What We Offer

Inclusive Education

We provide Braille and mainstream education from primary to matric level with trained blind educators and accessible materials.

Assistive Technology

Our computer lab is equipped with screen readers, audio book devices, and Braille printers to keep students connected and productive.

Vocational Training

Students learn practical skills such as crafts, cane weaving, and other trades to earn independently and contribute to society.

Campus & Facilities

Located near Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, the Al-Faisal Center offers:

  • Separate hostel facilities for boys and girls
  • Transport service for students from remote areas
  • Dining and nutrition support
  • Separate wing for female students including high school
  • Sheltered workshop for employment support

Currently, over 100 students are enrolled with support from a dedicated staff of 25 members, many of whom are blind themselves — living examples of our success.

Transforming Lives Across Pakistan

Thousands of blind individuals have walked through our doors and stepped into a life of confidence, dignity, and independence. Many serve today in government offices, private companies, and some even run their own businesses.
